Ragnar Elnyg is a visual artist and performance artist, part-time cheetah and orca merman. He joined Godzilla from Mariehamn, and travelled with the boat to Björkö, Vitören, Nötö and Seili (Sjölö).

During the Godzilla residency Elnyg was working with his performances including dancing, singing, playing violin, and swimming with a fishtail. In Mariehamn he performed his piece “Hardstyle Fish”; in Björkö his piece called “Ulkomaalainen vedenväki”; and in Seili (Själö) Herring Day his piece “Save a fish, eat a sailor.”

He describes his relation with the Baltic Sea a complicated one. “On one hand it is greenish and unsalty, on the other, the landscapes are incredible. We can feel by the sea and in the mountains all in one. And avanto (ice swimming) is a really cool thing. So in the end, I’d say I love it!”

His favourite species living in the Baltic Sea area are the seagulls (even if they might steal one’s fries!).
